Film & TV Charity- Apply for Financial Grant

Hi there,

I hope that all is well with you and yours at the moment.

As you may have seen in our previous emails to you, we work closely with various media-centric organisations in order to ensure that we have our ear firmly fixed to the ground. One of the organisations that we have been in talks with recently is the Film & TV Charity, and this email is to make you aware of a financial grant that is currently being offered by them, aimed at those who have, to date, fallen through the cracks of the Government’s current financial support measures.

Headline Points

· The grant is a one-off payment of between £500-£2,500

· It is classed as a gift and therefore NON taxable

· Intended to cover essential living costs for up to three months

· Applicants CANNOT be eligible for the self employed income support scheme unless you expect to receive under £800pm (see our previous emails in relation to eligibility factors of this scheme or speak to your team member)

· Applicants CAN be eligible if you are company director and on furloughed status if expected income is under £800pm (email to be sent separately to company directors shortly in relation to this)

· Aimed very specifically at those who are most in need- and therefore review the attached link to see if you are eligible to apply

· Link for FAQ’s surrounding this grant- https://filmtvcharity.org.uk/covid-19-help-advice/covid-19-relief-fund/frequently-asked-questions/

· APPLICATIONS WILL CLOSE AT 6PM on Wednesday 22nd April 2020

· Successful applicants will start receiving there grants the week beginning 27th April 2020.

Please note that applying for the grant does not automatically mean that you will be successful; there will be huge demand for such a grant, but if you feel that this would benefit you, and you fulfil the above criteria, then we would encourage you to apply for it.

In order to apply for the grant, you will need to know your anticipated income and outgoings for the period 1st April through to 30th June 2020, also you will need to know how many days you worked between 1st October 2019 and 31st March 2020. Please read the attached guidance, or go straight to the webpage at https://filmtvcharity.org.uk/covid-19-help-advice/covid-19-relief-fund/
If you are entitled to the self employed income support scheme (i.e. self employment profits below £50k) then you are not entitled to the above grant. HOWEVER if you are struggling to get by and cannot wait for the scheme to pay out in June. The Film and TV Charity as of today are also offering a REPAYABLE Grant Scheme, to help with cash flow. You can find more details regarding this separate Repayable Grant Scheme at https://filmtvcharity.org.uk/news-event/repayable-grants-scheme-announced/

If this e-mail doesn’t apply to you, but would be helpful to a colleague or friend, please pass this e-mail on to them, so they can get the support they need.

Should you need any information from us at all in order to help you with your application, please do just give us a shout – we are here to help.

Best Wishes
Team Blue Skies
